Sheriff Patrick Withrow says arrests in the deadly mass shooting in Stockton could be made within the next month.
Sheriff Patrick Withrow said arrests in the deadly Stockton mass shooting could be made within the next month as investigators process evidence.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is working around the clock after a Nov. 29 shooting at a birthday party in Stockton that left four people dead: three children and one adult.
The victims were aged 8, 9, 14 and 21 years old. Masked gunmen fired more than 50 rounds from 5 different guns at the Monkey Space banquet hall, injuring 13 people.
Investigators are looking for multiple suspects in connection with the shooting, which investigators believe was gang-related and targeted rappers MBnel and Fly Boy Doughy at the party.
Withrow has provided updates on the investigation in his monthly speeches, revealing that detectives are in the final stages of gathering evidence before turning everything over to the district attorney.
“I can’t tell you much, but it’s moving forward. It’s doing very, very well,” Willow said.
The investigation is methodical. Investigators have been sifting through surveillance footage, phone records and other digital evidence from the shooting.
“We’re sorting through all of that. We have to put it all on paper in a report. Then we can take it and hand it over to the district attorney who’s eager to get on top of this, and at that point, once they figure out what they have and all of that, we start putting people in handcuffs,” Withrow said.
Withrow stressed that the investigation was proceeding as planned, rebutting online critics who questioned its progress.
“Don’t listen to the naysayers on the internet or anything like that. This is what we want and we’re going to have a great outcome. God bless the families who have been affected by the mass shooting and we’re still praying for you, but we’re going to hold those responsible accountable,” Willow said.
The Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward of up to $130,000 for information leading to an arrest.
As of May 18, 2026, no arrests have been made in this case.
