We know Baby Keem’s quirky sound was influenced by his cousin Kendrick Lamar, but now, Baby Keem is revealing other creative inspirations that helped shape his process for Ca$ino.
Once he mentioned it, it was almost obvious. In a new interview with Nardwuar, Keem revealed that, in fact, his strongest influences come from rappers like Common and Eminem. On his own albums, Kim had a unique sound, voice and narrative, but with the new message, the dots are easier to connect.
After all, these two are some of the most talented and soulful storytellers in hip-hop. When talking about influences, Keem got more specific: “The Be album was so cool and I did a lot of research for ‘Ca$ino’… (Eminem is) one of my favorite artists…I was so inspired throughout the whole process of ‘Ca$ino.'”
