It’s been a long time coming for the victims of the Astroworld festival tragedy and those seeking justice. Dozens of lawsuits filed against the notoriously deadly music festival have been rolled into one major legal action. But as you might expect, with so many defendants and so many cases, the final trial progressed rather slowly. Back in March, they were still determining who the actual defendants in the case were. Drake, who made a surprise appearance at the music festival, was released from proceedings. Travis Scott made a similar request but was denied.
According to Billboard , the latest delay in the trial is another defendant trying to get out – Apple. The company live-streamed the festival on its Apple Music platform and has been embroiled in a lawsuit along with Scott and many other festival staff. Apple has also tried to get out of the lawsuit on free speech grounds. They are appealing a motion that has been denied, arguing that the live concert gives them free speech rights as an electronic medium. The trial must be postponed while the appeal is considered. It was originally about getting to the jury selection stage, but that has now been postponed.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival trial postponed again
Prior to this delay, the latest development in the Astroworld Festival trial involved the ability for public viewing. The victim filed a motion to live stream the proceedings online. Their statement suggests they are seeking transparency and accountability in the move. They had already scored a sizable victory when the judge ruled that the trial would have a jury that Scott and the other defendants would have to face.
What do you think about Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival trial being postponed after Apple made a last-second move to try and get out of the trial? If the court proceedings were eventually broadcast live, do you think you would tune in? Let us know in the comments section below.
