Two adorable meerkats named after rap stars Cardi B and Biggie have welcomed their fifth litter at a Scottish wildlife park.
Last month, Scotland’s Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park announced that their meerkat couple, affectionately known as Cardi B and Biggie, had given birth to a new litter of pups in their habitat. Born on May 5, the proud parents welcomed five new puppies. The new cubs are the fifth litter since joining the zoo in 2022.
The newborn cubs spend their first weeks hiding underground because they are born blind, deaf and almost hairless, according to officials. Because meerkats thrive in close-knit groups called “mobs,” older meerkat siblings help care for and protect the newborns. After a few weeks, puppies will open their eyes and begin to nibble on solid food. On May 29, 2026, the five puppies made their official public appearance outside their underground residence.
“The pups are starting to find their feet and you can already see their little personalities emerging,” said Carolyn Booth, team leader at the zoo’s petting farm. “It’s a great show to watch and the whole mob really steps up to help raise them. It’s a proper family effort and the dynamic of a group of this size is fascinating.”
This is Cardi B and Biggie’s fifth comeback as parents. Last year, on September 28, 2025, Cardi B gave birth to four puppies for their already growing family. Overall, the pair are the parents of 19 meerkats in the habitat.
Talk about spreading love the meerkat way.
