Update (July 14):
Bradford Cohen, the attorney handling the criminal charges in the case, issued the following statement to XXL regarding the civil lawsuit:
“We are not currently representing Mr. Scott in this frivolous civil lawsuit. We very clearly dismiss all criminal charges filed against Mr. Scott that night because they have no legal or factual basis. He was never charged, and he was not even charged with assault that night. He was arrested for nuisance poisoning and criminal trespassing. This case is nothing more than an attempted money grab, and I am confident they will not succeed. In fact, I will sue the captain for the breach of contract.”
Original story (July 14):
Travis Scott is facing a lawsuit over an alleged yacht fight after police dropped charges related to the incident.
On Tuesday (July 14), TMZ reported that employees of the boat charter service are suing La Flame. According to court documents obtained by Celebrity News, the plaintiff claimed that Travis rented a boat in Miami in June 2024, but when the captain wouldn’t let him take out the jet ski, the plaintiff became angry because Travis was drunk.
Travis then allegedly told the captain to dock the boat, before the rapper left and returned about 30 minutes later in an extremely confrontational atmosphere. The captain said he then decided to end the trip, which angered Travis, who allegedly attacked the captain and threatened to kill him.
The suit alleges that Travis also assaulted multiple yacht employees who tried to intervene and leave before police arrived and removed Travis from the boat. The workers are now suing the rapper for battery, battery, false imprisonment and more, and are seeking unspecified damages.
Travis was originally arrested in June 2024 and charged with two counts of intoxication and criminal trespassing. When Travis was arrested, his attorney Bradford Cohen insisted there was no fight.
“There was absolutely no physical altercation and we are grateful to the authorities for working with us to resolve the matter quickly and amicably,” he told XXL.
Two months later, prosecutors dropped all charges.
XXL has reached out to Travis Scott’s representatives and attorney for comment.
