Diddy sold his $55 million Star Island mansion, where prosecutors said weird things happened, but kept his other $14.5 million property in Miami.
Sean Diddy Combs just sold his Star Island mansion for $55 million.
Federal prosecutors say he orchestrated some of his most notorious oddities at the lavish estate, and the sale marks a major shift in his real estate portfolio while serving time in prison.
The property, which he purchased from Gloria Estefan in 2021 for $35 million, became the centerpiece of the government’s case against him, with trial testimony detailing how the oceanfront property became the center of an alleged sex trafficking operation, leading to a 50-month federal prison sentence.
Prosecutors presented evidence that the mansion’s layout and amenities made it an ideal setting for elaborate parties that prosecutors said involved coercion and violence.
During his trial, witnesses testified about the logistics of organizing the events at the property, and federal agents described what they found during a March 2024 raid.
According to court documents, the mansion’s location on Miami’s most exclusive island makes it a bastion of privacy, allowing Diddy to operate without outside interference.
But here’s the thing: Diddy hasn’t lost his footing in Miami, as he still owns another Star Island property he purchased in 2003 for $14.5 million, keeping him firmly rooted in one of the nation’s most expensive communities.
While Dee Dee was serving time in prison, real estate moves revealed his carefully planned strategy.
According to the South Florida Business Journal, the sale represents a major liquidation of his most controversial property, even as he simultaneously holds on to his other Miami properties and his $61.5 million Beverly Hills mansion remains off the market.
Despite facing legal troubles, Diddy’s investment portfolio still includes multiple properties across the country, giving him a significant amount of equity.
His expected release date from federal prison is February 23, 2028, which means he has about two years left on his sentence.
