Super producer Hit Boy shocked fans in the last 24 hours by finally putting his iconic 14 year old mixtape Hitstory, along with its sequel, onto modern streaming networks on August 14, 2026. Hit Boy explained that because platforms like Spotify and Apple Music did not exist when the music was first made in 2012, it had never received a proper release.
The 22 track Hitstory includes early verses from Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, and Dom Kennedy. Sequel Hitstory 2 adds 2014 unreleased beats that later became Trophies and Paris. Both hit streaming at midnight with new Dolby Atmos mixes. Hit Boy said he cleared all samples himself.
Fans call it a time capsule, with 1M streams in 10 hours and Hitstory trending. Hit Boy is prepping new album with The Alchemist for October.
