Diddy faces a 2027 civil trial over charges that he hung Bryana Bongolan from a 17th-floor balcony in Cassie in 2016.
Diddy is awaiting another trial that dates back to a horrific night in 2016 when a civil trial against Bryana “Bana” Bongolan was underway in federal court in Los Angeles.
She’s a creative director and a close friend of Cassie Ventura, the government’s star witness against Diddy. Bongolan claimed that Diddy broke into Cassie’s Los Angeles apartment and hung her body over the edge of a 17th-floor balcony.
She said he held her against the railing for about 10 to 15 seconds and then threw her onto the patio furniture. The attack in September 2016 allegedly left her with bruises, back and neck pain and trauma that plagued her for years to come.
Bongolan had already told her story publicly at Diddy’s criminal trial back in June 2025, and her testimony left the courtroom cold.
She described that her night terrors were so severe that she would often wake up screaming in her sleep. Before she could testify, she invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and the judge had to issue an immunity order.
Diddy’s defenders violently assaulted her, revealing that she was a heavy drug addict who was high during the attack. She denied this and told the court her reason for being there was simple: she wanted justice for what had happened to her.
The case is currently expected to go to trial on May 3, 2027. Defendants named in the filing include Diddy himself, Bad Boy Entertainment LLC and its corporate entity CeOpco LLC. Diddy’s own lawyers noted in the filing that his April 2028 release date could create some serious scheduling issues.
If the case goes all the way to trial, this could be the third time Diddy sits in front of a jury. He has faced a criminal trial in Manhattan federal court that began in May 2025 and ended with a conviction.
A jury found him guilty of two counts of transporting a person across state lines for prostitution under the Mann Act. Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months in prison and fined him $500,000. He also added five years of supervised release to that sentence.
Diddy is located in FCI Fort Dix, New Jersey, with an expected release date of April 15, 2028.
A second trial is also underway, with Diddy asking a jury to hear Clayton Howard’s $20 million lawsuit against him. Howard is a former call girl who claims Diddy and Cassie dragged him into years of paid weird parties and left him with nothing. Diddy makes formal request to jury in California federal case.
Dee Dee is locked up, appealing his conviction and watching two other civil trials from a New Jersey jail cell.
