Ye fans will have to wait until March to hear his new Bully album, as the rapper has reportedly delayed the release after signing a new partnership deal with indie music label Gamma.
Ye’s new album is set to be released on Friday (January 30). On Wednesday (January 28), Rolling Stone reported that the LP will arrive on March 20. The latest delay comes after Yeezy signed a deal with Gamma. Gamma was founded in 2023 by former Apple executive Larry Jackson and record label executive Ike Youssef. The company is also home to artists such as Sexyy Red, Rick Ross, French Montana, Mariah Carey and more.
In September last year, Ye Fan officially released his 12th solo album “Bully”. The project is described as a concept album and was recorded primarily in Tokyo, Japan. Last March, Ye collaborated with director Hyp Williams on a Bully short film, which featured songs from the album. It’s unclear whether the final version will contain the same songs. The album was originally scheduled to be released last June but was delayed multiple times.
The new development comes after Ye published an ad in the Wall Street Journal in which he denounced his anti-Semitic behavior and apologized to the black and Jewish communities. He later insisted that the apology was not a PR move to release new music.
“I looked at the wreckage of my episode and realized this wasn’t me,” he told Vanity Fair. “As a public figure, a lot of people hang on and listen to my every word. It’s important that they realize and understand which side of history I want to be on. That’s love and positivity.”
XXL has reached out to Ye’s team and Gamma for comment.
