Hernandez Govan was acquitted of murdering Jan Dorff but was arrested on stalking charges. Bail was set at $4,000 with strict conditions.
Hernandez Govan was arrested on stalking and harassment charges and later released on $4,000 bail nearly a year after he was acquitted in the death of Memphis rapper Young Dolph.
The 47-year-old man was arrested on June 11, 2026 and released on $4,000 bail.
A woman accused Govan of sending threatening calls and messages earlier this month that made her fear for her safety, according to court records.
The charges stem from a domestic-related incident. Investigators said Govan allegedly threatened to blow up the woman’s home and threatened to post explicit content about her on social media.
As part of his bail conditions, Govan must stay away from the victim, he cannot use or possess a firearm, and he is not allowed to contact her on social media.
Govan is due back in court on Monday.
The arrest comes a year after Govan was acquitted on August 21, 2025, of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the 2021 death of Young Dorf.
The jury deliberated for about three hours before finding him not guilty on all counts. On November 5, 2021, young Dolph was shot and killed inside a Makeda homemade butter cookie.
After Govan was acquitted, he said he would leave Memphis after the trial and expressed condolences over the death of his daughter, rapper Lotta Cash DeSto, who was shot to death in Houston.
Now, less than a year later, he’s facing new legal trouble that could complicate his life even more.
