Most people know Jhené Aiko for her silky vocals and soulful R&B vibes, but meet her sister Mila J, the veteran singer, songwriter, dancer and all-around visual force who was quietly carving her own path in music long before Chilombo hit the charts.
Born Jamila Akiko Aba Chilombo, Mira grew up in a tight-knit musical family in Los Angeles. Mila was in a girl group as a child, was a dancer in Prince’s “Diamonds and Pearls” video, and later made the EP and her debut album “Dopamine” her own.
But forget about the discography for a moment, these birthday photos aren’t about the tracks, they’re about the presence.

Mila stepped out in a white cut-out dress that appeared to be custom-made and accentuated every curve. On the upper body, low-slung straps and strategic hoops accentuated her bust like a statement piece, bold and shameless.
The bodice’s dramatic braiding of straps and hardware leads the eye along her silhouette, like a dance you feel before you see it.
Underneath, the dress hugged her hips and waist, and its ruched texture made her curves pop even against the minimalist backdrop. Long skirts trailed with slow-burn elegance, while cutouts and ties teased the skin, a mixture of calm and provocation that only the confident can effortlessly pull off.
Whether she’s raising her arms to tousle her hair or letting those straps hang down like an attitude accessory, she looks like she knows exactly which angles will make the world pause.
Not only are the photos full of birthday glamor, they’re also a reminder that while her sister makes the bigger headlines, Mila has her own charms too.
She doesn’t need fancy tricks to get attention; she just needs a camera, the right light and an instinct for command.
This wasn’t a side project or a “photo dump sister”; this was Mila J’s moment to flip the script and make everyone remember her name.
