Kim Kardashian once again raised eyebrows this week when Hulu’s legal drama All’s Fair dropped its fifth episode titled after a famous Taylor Swift song, reigniting the long-standing tension between the two celebrities.
The episode’s title, “This Is Me Trying,” shares the same name with a song from Swift’s 2020 album Followre, a choice that many believe is more than just a coincidence.
Kim Kardashian stars as a high-powered divorce lawyer in the Ryan Murphy-produced series, and the show’s emotional weight isn’t lost on viewers familiar with the pair’s checkered history.
The claim quickly sparked speculation online, with many pointing to the infamous 2016 phone call involving Swift and Kanye West as the source of the ongoing feud. When Kardashian posted a clip of Swift discussing West’s controversial lyrics from “Famous,” the moment remained a cultural flashpoint.
“The moment Kanye West secretly records your phone call and then Kim posts it to the internet… you can’t control the emotional reaction of someone being called ‘that asshole’ in front of the whole world,” Swift previously said of the fallout.
The series, which will premiere in November 2025, tells the story of a group of women who leave a large law firm to start their own practices. While All’s Fair received mixed reviews, the buzz surrounding the episode reportedly helped boost its streaming numbers, and the controversy only increased interest in the show.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Glenn Close has defended her costar’s performance amid criticism. Meanwhile, Murphy is said to be developing new storylines as the show looks towards a second season. The cast also includes Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Bates and Teyana Taylor. Episode 6 will premiere on Hulu on November 25th.
Whether the title is a clear nod or a creative coincidence, it’s clear that the Kardashian-Swift saga continues to shape pop culture narratives and spark conversations across entertainment platforms.
