Vic Mensah exposed the contradictions in Trump’s position on birthright citizenship by emphasizing his family’s German roots.
Vic Mensa just called out the hypocrisy of Donald Trump’s campaign against birthright citizenship, and the rapper didn’t hesitate to dish out his criticism.
On June 30, 2026, the Supreme Court upheld the Fourteenth Amendment, overturning Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship, and Mensa released a video response that directly addressed Trump’s own family history.
“Trump’s attack on birthright citizenship is funny because it’s the only reason he’s American,” Mensah said in the video. “Your a—is not Chippewa, and it’s not Ogalala Su. You bastards are German.”
The rapper then dissected the family tree that Trump apparently wants to ignore.
Trump’s grandfather, Frederick Trump, was from Bavaria. Trump’s father became a U.S. citizen because he enjoyed birthright citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment.
Mensah’s point was clear: If Trump wanted to end the policy, he should renounce his citizenship and move back to Bavaria.
The rapper went deeper into what he believes are the real motivations behind the push to eliminate birthright citizenship.
“This is just another way to target black and brown mothers,” Mensah explained. “Weaponizing the police state and exploiting their fear of mass replacement to prevent irreversible demographic change in the United States.”
Trump responded through the Truth Society, calling the Supreme Court’s ruling “terrible for our country” and urging Congress to pass legislation to repeal birthright citizenship “starting today.”
He considered the policy expensive and unfair, and continued to oppose constitutional protections in place since 1868.
