Future has been racking up crazy sales figures with its extensive discography for over a decade, and that trend is likely to continue.
Pluto released “The Real Me” on July 10th. The project marks his 10th solo studio album and his first solo release since 2024’s Mixtape Pluto, kicking off another strong debut from one of hip-hop’s most consistent commercial catalogs.
Looking back at the history of Future’s first week, growth has been very stable. His 2012 debut album “Pluto” opened with sales of just over 41,000 copies, while 2014’s “Honest” pushed that number to around 53,000 copies. But when he began recording the Monster mixtape later that year, things quickly changed.
In 2015, DS2 became a commercial breakthrough moment, selling approximately 151,000 copies in its first week and giving Future its first No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Just a few months later, his Drake collaboration What a Time to Be Alive debuted, selling over 375,000 copies, making it his biggest debut to date.
Since then, the numbers have remained stable.
Future made history in 2017 when his self-titled LP and HNDRXX debuted at No. 1 in consecutive weeks (and hit six-figure sales), making him the first artist to dethrone himself at the top of the Billboard 200. Years later, he’s still releasing major debut albums, with “I Never Liked You” one of the biggest solo debuts of his career, and his 2024 project “Metro Boomin” both debuting at No. 1.
Even as the industry entered the streaming era, the Atlanta native’s numbers never dropped.
As we await first-week sales figures for “The Real Me” next week, take a look back at Future’s first-week sales numbers on the Billboard 200 throughout its career.
