The second Foolio murder trial began with a Yungeen Ace song playing and a review of the defendant’s interrogation film.
Opening arguments began on Wednesday (April 22) in the case of four men accused of killing the Jacksonville, Florida, rapper in June 2024. Prosecutors charged Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy and Davion Murphy with Foolio’s murder, suspects as part of an ongoing gang war between Foolio’s 6 Block and Ace’s Top Killers and the 1200. Attached. Yungeen Ace’s song “Game Over” was played as evidence of an alleged dispute between the pair and Foolio.
Prosecutors also played jurors video from Davion Murphy’s post-arrest interrogation, which showed him repeatedly pretending to fire a gun after the officer left the room.
Garth Wright, Murphy and Murphy are accused of shooting Foolio outside a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida. Authorities said Chance helped plan the murder and tracked Foolio in order to provide the shooter with his location.
In November, the fifth person charged with murder, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter at trial. She was scheduled to be sentenced in December. However, that date was delayed when Florida’s 2nd District Court of Appeal removed the judge from the case after the defense filed a motion claiming the judge was biased against them.
