Donald Trump claims Tim Cook called him for help during his first term and that he enjoyed having his butt kissed by the Apple CEO.
Donald Trump just made an entire post on Truth Social about how much he loves Tim Cook, which is basically Trump bragging about his relationship with the Apple CEO like it’s the ultimate resiliency.
Trump said Cook called him during his first term and asked for help solving some major problems that only a sitting president could solve, and that Trump’s response was purely egotistical.
“I was so impressed that the head of Apple called to ‘kiss my ass,'” Trump wrote, making it clear that he loved every second of being wanted by one of the tech giants.
Cook is said to have solved what Donald Trump called “a pretty big problem” by going directly to the White House instead of hiring expensive consultants, as most CEOs do.
Trump said he helped Cook out of trouble, and their relationship has evolved since then.
According to Trump, Cook called him multiple times over the years whenever he needed to take care of something, and when Donald Trump thought Cook was right on the issue, he offered help.
Trump portrayed Cook as an incredible operator who could get the job done without wasting money on consultants, and he made their relationship sound like it was based on mutual respect and genuine problem-solving. Trump even took a dig at Cook’s predecessor, saying that Steve Jobs was great, but Cook’s performance at Apple was “almost unparalleled.”
The entire article reads like a glowing testimonial from Trump, who is credited with helping Cook succeed through moves of presidential power.
“Tim Cook has had an amazing career, almost unparalleled, and will continue to do great work for Apple and other jobs he chooses to pursue. Quite simply, Tim Cook is an incredible man!!!” Trump wrote.
Cook will resign as CEO of Apple on September 1, 2026 and become executive chairman, with John Ternus taking over as the new CEO.
With Cook at the helm of Apple for 15 years, Trump’s post felt like a farewell gift filled with ego and self-congratulation.
