Both Drake and Kendrick Lamar have benefited from their feud, as multiple songs derived from the beef have now reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In a new chart released on Monday (May 13), K.Dot’s dance-worthy diss “Not Like Us” debuts at No. 1, followed by his previous diss “Euphoria,” which spends its second week at No. 3. The song that started it all is “Like That” by Metro Boomin and Future, which ranked No. 6.
For Drizzy, his Kendrick diss “Family Matters” has entered the charts at No. 7.
Responding to the reaction to the No. 1 spot, “Not Like Us” producer Mustard was delighted to be back on top and declared the city of Los Angeles “on the rise again.”
“Sometimes you really have to step out and show off!!!!” he said. “think.” . . They were literally getting in my face and acting like I was something I wasn’t! I was grateful, but not surprised; I never lost sight and stayed on the ground.
“My back against the wall is where I thrive. From what I hear, summer started last week! See you sooner than you think! CC: @kendricklamar City Backup!!
However, it doesn’t look like there will be any more diss tracks dropping, as Drake has seemingly thrown in the towel after being considered by many to have lost the battle.
Over the weekend, Drizzy posted an illustration of a Japanese samurai taking on a massive cavalry on his Instagram Stories, a nod to the “20 vs. 1” narrative he referenced in his diss song “Push Ups.”
Above the photo, he wrote: “Great times. Then comes the summer vibe.
Many fans took the post to mean he had quit his feud with Kendrick. “Like one of the greatest feuds in hip-hop history just ended,” one fan said, while another wrote: “He raised the white flag.”
While everyone from Joe Budden to Cam’ron and Ma$e believes Kendrick Lamar won, TDE Records head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith thinks another winner did: culture.
“The battle is over. It’s a victory for culture while keeping everything on wax,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) last week. “Especially when these publications try to turn it into something else.”
