Host Hexxx from Los Angeles, California’s fourth extended show is finally here. Ten years ago, his debut full-length play “Samhain” came out. Three years later, he released his second EP “West Coast Wicked Shit”, followed by his full-length debut album “Demon Season”, and his second work “Tales of a Cursed G” has also become a classic of West Coast Wicked Shit. Last summer he released the Suerte EP and has since returned to record the audio description for Endless Night.
“Rock, Paper, Cemetery” resurfaces at dusk, talking about how this shit is something he’s inherited, while “Crash Out” has a trap vibe, admitting he feels like a ghost, drowning out his pain. Following an interlude, “The Real” spoke about his plans to remain independent in the future and gave a shout-out to the legal people still with him before things took a darker turn to discuss what has felt like a “freight train” lately.
After the “Ghost Dog” episode, “West End Samurai” goes on to talk about the evil shit of the West Coast, talking about how much pain it took him to get the light that he has, while “Rocko” gets his g-shit in a ratchet rhythm. “Entrance Theme” has a bit of a Memphis vibe, dedicated to all my fellow gangsters, and once “Chrome Clouds” talks about keeping the wave going, “Friday” wraps it all up with a jazzy West Coast coda as a weekend celebration anthem.
Despite releasing “Suerte” almost a year ago next month, Hexxx took most of 2025 off from touring so that he could devote all of that time to making “Endless Night” the greatest thing he’s ever done in his career, and I can safely say that as far as his EPs go, it’s not that far off from its predecessor. With production ranging from jazz rap to ratchet rap to Memphis rap and lyricism, West Coast Wicked Shit’s Prosecutor answers a few questions that come to mind.
Score: 8/10
