Rapper ILoveMemphis was arrested for the second time in a week after he allegedly burglarized a home and caused a disturbance in a South Florida community.
According to NBC 6 South Florida news station on Wednesday (February 18), ILoveMemphis was detained by the police for the second time on Tuesday (February 17) because he was suspected of committing multiple burglaries and causing riots in a community in Plantation, Florida.
Plantation police said officers were responding to reports of a disturbance nearby and discovered ILoveMemphis, whose real name is Richard Morris Colbert, was using a cell phone and posting on social media, violating the conditions of the rapper’s pretrial release following his arrest last week. When confronted by police, the 32-year-old Rymer fled, allegedly entering people’s homes through enclosed backyards and patios, which may explain the burglary charges.
The area had to be cordoned off as Broward Sheriff’s deputies used their aviation unit and K-9 dogs to search for the rapper. Once discovered, ILoveMemphis was arrested; it has not yet been revealed what additional charges he will face in this latest incident.
As previously reported, ILoveMemphis was arrested on February 10 after locking himself in his home and engaging in a tense standoff with a SWAT team, all of which was captured on Instagram Live. The incident ended without any injuries after a SWAT team broke down the garage door and arrested the rapper.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by XXL, ILoveMemphis is charged with making a written threat to kill or injure and resisting an officer without violence. The rapper was released from jail on February 11 after posting $250 bail, which was equal to 10 percent of the $2,500 total, according to bail documents.
XXL has reached out to the Plantation Police Department for comment.
