Tay-K appears to be fueling rumors that he could be released from prison and home soon.
The footage, posted to his Instagram on Tuesday (June 9), shows him being greeted by several people as he jumps into his car. However, when his face is revealed, it’s the rapper’s animated character.
The footage comes nearly two weeks after his sister, Kayla Beverly, shared a video ending a call with someone saved as “Attorney Taymor” in her address book. After hanging up the phone, she turned to a woman who appeared to be Tay-K’s mother and said, “Your son is home.”
Shortly after, Tay-K shared a tweet, “It’s true,” adding to speculation.
XXL has reached out to Tay-K’s attorney for comment.
Tay-K was sentenced to 80 years in prison for murder in 2025 in the death of Mark Anthony Saldivar. The rapper was shot to death in a Chick-Fil-A parking lot in San Antonio in March 2017 while he was on the run. The sentence will run concurrently with his previous 55-year sentence for murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the 2016 murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker.
He still has an open case regarding the 2027 assault and robbery of a man named Skip Pepe in Arlington, Texas, which also occurred while he was on the run for a 2016 murder.
Tay-K’s current expected release date is August 8, 2099. However, he is eligible for parole in 2049.
