“You’re not a fan?”
A Texas woman went to Walmart and noticed something strange. There was a fan display in the store and there were so many fans stacked on top of each other that she couldn’t reach even one without the whole thing falling apart.
“I’m at Walmart and I have a question,” TikToker Kelli Davis (@crnflkthedstryr) said in a post with more than 11,300 views. The woman noticed the five-pin high fan tower and seemed to have no idea how to get the fan out. It’s unclear why the Walmart has so many of the $23.86 products in stock, although Davis doesn’t appear to be a “big fan” of the products.
In Davis’ film, she browses the vast array of available products. Fans are stacked in multiple directions. Some face Davis’ camera, while others face the monitor. This combination creates a tower in the middle of the store that is taller than most aisles.
Walmart Inventory Selection
Davis isn’t the only one to notice excess inventory at Walmart stores.
In preparation for summer, Walmart sometimes puts out bulk releases of products that customers buy frequently. For example, fans tend to show up in large numbers at Walmart stores.
A Walmart employee posted a photo of a fan display at their store, which included “no trays or signs.”
“Management believes they will sell either way,” one commenter said.
Another suspected employee commented on Walmart’s trend of putting out huge fans, saying: “They’ll sit there until the first heat wave comes. And then people will buy them at 1 a.m. because they can’t sleep.” [It] Happens every year. “
Several commenters added their insights into why the Walmart store in Davis might have so many Lasko fans.
One viewer mentioned that Davis might live in College Station. Stores near universities often offer students a wide range of products such as fans, mini fridges and portable electronic devices. This gives them easy access to amenities while living in dormitories or student accommodation.
Typically, though, college towns put these displays on display along with other back-to-school offerings in late June and early July.
Other viewers suggested the store decided to sell all of its inventory immediately. “They may have too much inventory and not enough room on top or in the back, or they may be selling out too quickly and need to keep taking it out. [re-upping],” one viewer said.
Regardless, this pile looks like a lawsuit, at least to some viewers. “It’s called ‘Litigation Tower,'” one viewer added.
