Tigger was arrested on felony battery and child abuse charges after his wife’s post went viral, and he denies all charges.
After his arrest last weekend, Tigger posted an unequivocal denial on Instagram as his legal situation grows increasingly dire.
The veteran V-103 morning host and former voice on BET’s “Rap City: Tha Basement” was booked into the Fulton County Jail on June 20 on charges of aggravated battery and third-degree child abuse and was held on a $10,000 bond before being released that day.
His Instagram statement following his arrest, posted on his bigtiggershow account, read: “I unequivocally deny every accusation made against me. Because this is an active legal matter, I am limited in what I can say. What I can say is that I have complete confidence in the facts and the legal process.”
The case dates back to a May 9 argument at the couple’s Sandy Springs home, which his wife, Alicia Brown, described to investigators.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by 11Alive, the altercation began over text messages between Big Tigger and a female co-worker and escalated when Big Tigger allegedly pushed Brown through an office door, causing a deep laceration above her left eye that required multiple stitches.
A month later, significant disfigurement was still visible above the eyes, the search warrant states. Ring cameras reportedly captured the push.
The child abuse charge stems from the fact that the couple’s 13-year-old son was at the home during the confrontation and could hear everything going on in an upstairs bedroom.
It was Brown himself who brought all this into public view.
On June 6, she posted a video on Instagram showing her stitched-up face and dark circles with the caption, “Someone asked my husband why my face changed,” tagging Tigger co-host Francesca Amiker in the process.
The post went viral almost immediately, with Brown confirming in the comments that she and Teague were divorcing over his relationship with Amick.
Four-time Emmy winner Amick, who appeared on the V-103 morning show a few weeks ago, denied the incident in a written statement, calling the claims “completely false.”
Brown later issued her own follow-up statement, per TMZ’s report, clarifying that she “never called my husband an abuser” and that “social media has come to its own conclusions.”
On June 12, before his arrest, Tigger broke his silence and issued a public statement categorically denying it all.
“I want to make it clear that these accusations and accusations that are being circulated are false,” he said. “Furthermore, to be clear, Francesca and I are merely friends and respected colleagues.”
When AllHipHop reported a few weeks ago that the investigation was deepening, no arrests had been made.
Tigger has not been on the air since his arrest, with Frank Ski filling his spot on V-103.
Sandy Springs police arrested him on June 20, two weeks after Brown’s post went viral and his name first appeared on the streets.
