P-Dice was jailed for five years after he shot a pregnant woman in a parking lot and then taunted police on social media.
P-Dice is currently serving five years and three months in federal prison for shooting a pregnant woman twice at point-blank range in a parking lot in Clifton, New Jersey, in July 2023.
The 38-year-old rapper, whose real name is Justin Pope, was sentenced by federal prosecutors in New Jersey on Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition as a convicted felon.
The incident began with an argument in a car and the woman grabbed Pope’s gun, hit him in the face, and tried to run away.
When she got out of the car, P-Dice took a gun and shot her twice at close range.
One of the bullets traveled across the street and landed on a menu display in a fast-food restaurant that was open at the time and employees were working inside.
As the woman tried to get back into the car and escape, P-Dice violently tugged at her arms, eventually climbing on top of her and kicking her out of the car.
The entire incident could have ended with multiple deaths, but it didn’t. What happened next showed just how reckless P-Dice was.
The day after the shooting, P-Dice posted a video on social media taunting police, saying “Can’t find me. Police. You’ll never find me” while firing shots into the air in a residential area.
He posted a second video of himself driving around, using profanity and continuing to taunt law enforcement officers.
Hours after the second video was posted, police found him at a New York City bus stop while trying to board an out-of-state bus while waving a gun at bus workers.
Police recovered a loaded 9mm ghost gun, a privately manufactured firearm without a serial number and a high-capacity magazine.
Ballistics testing confirmed it was the same weapon used in the parking lot shooting.
P-Dice was previously convicted of shooting a 7-year-old boy in Paterson in 2016, so he is legally prohibited from possessing any firearms or ammunition.
P-Dice’s history in the music industry adds another layer of meaning to the case.
He was previously a member of the Fetty Wap band Remy Boyz and appeared in the “679” music video before the two got into a fight, after which P-Dice was kicked out of the band.
P-Dice will also serve three years of supervised release after serving his sentence.
