SZA is building up her acting portfolio by lending her voice in the upcoming CoComelon film, continuing her transition from music to film after debuting in One of Them Days.
SZA is expanding her acting slate with a major voiceover role in the upcoming CoComelon: The Movie, marking her continued transition from music to film following her successful debut in One of These Days.
The animated feature, set to be released by Universal Pictures on February 19, 2027, brings together a strong cast that includes Ike Barinholtz, Nicholas Hoult, Saturday Night Live’s Sarah Sherman and Ego Nwodim, as well as Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Reese and Crystal Fernandez.
According to Deadline, young actors voicing key roles include Connor Esterson as JJ, Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe.
SZA’s move into voice acting represents a strategic expansion of her entertainment career outside of her Grammy-winning music career.
The North Carolina native made her feature film debut in the buddy comedy One of These Days with Keke Palmer and has shown a willingness to take on acting challenges, and now she’s venturing deeper into the field.
Her involvement in one of the world’s most influential children’s franchises, CoComelon, shows she’s serious about building a legitimate acting portfolio rather than treating movies as a one-off venture.
Launched as a YouTube channel in 2006, the series has become a global phenomenon, reaching over 80 countries and averaging more than 4 billion monthly YouTube views.
