LL Cool J was brutally honest when talking about the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show controversy involving Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding Lil Wayne not being chosen to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans. On October 17, Fat Joe’s Starz internet talk show “Fat Joe Talks” premiered a new interview segment with LL Cool J. The 100% attitude was ignored by some.
“Lil Wayne is one of the most talented people on the planet. He’s one of our great artists and he’s an incredible writer,” LL says in the video below. “He’s going to have his day. Let Kendrick get that. Let’s move on.”
The Queens, N.Y., native urged Wayne not to let the snub affect him.
“Wayne comes from a very proud state of Louisiana and a very proud city of New Orleans…but here’s the thing: your time will come and you will have your day,” LL continued . “You can’t let this break you. The only reason it makes me laugh is because I know how lucky he is and I know how successful he is. So he doesn’t have to worry about that moment. It’s just a moment, man, it’s It’s just a matter of a moment.
Ultimately, LL concluded, these are first-world problems.
“These are champagne issues,” he added. “Some people couldn’t listen to their demos. I think we were kind of spoiled unintentionally. It was like, ‘Yo, man. You’re a bad boy.’ Wayne was the best of the best.
