There seems to be a trend of rappers turning to podcasts — from T.I. to Lil Yachty, even Drake, and now Lil Wayne. The rap icon just teamed up with Broadcasting Hall of Famer Craig Caton to launch a new podcast!
The podcast was first launched on July 22 and is called “The Joint Venture Show.” Of course, in typical Lil Wayne fashion, the title appears to be a pun; I guess the punchline master couldn’t help but do what he does best. Whether it’s in the naming of his bar or his new venture.
He confirmed as much in an announcement about the upcoming podcast, saying, “I’ll light a lamp with my friend Craig and we’ll talk about whatever’s going on throughout the day. You never know who’s going to stop or where the conversation will go.” According to a press note, the show will focus on music, sports, and pop culture by promoting “straightforward” conversations — you get the idea.
In terms of frequency, it will be produced by Magilla Entertainment, released weekly, and will be available on YouTube as well as all major podcast platforms.
In addition to Wayne and Caton, each episode is also promised to feature a special guest, which makes the concept even more exciting. In addition to launching on July 22, an episode will be filmed in front of a live audience at Fanatics Fest on July 19, with Eli Manning, Amar’e Stoudemire and Darrelle Revis as special guests. So, how excited are you! ?
