J. Kerr reflects on his performance in a game with the Chinese Basketball Association on his return to the United States
On Monday (April 13), Cole shared a post on his personal blog, updating fans following his short but fulfilling professional basketball career with the Nanjing Monkey Kings. The North Carolina rapper was originally scheduled to compete in three games. However, he only played in one game due to delays in obtaining a work visa.
“I want to say thank you to Nanjing Club and the CBA for this incredible experience,” Cole wrote. “And my teammates, they are so cool and they really wanted me to get a goal! I played 8 minutes in the top league in the world and made some good plays but couldn’t hit one. Play a few more games and maybe those shots will start to drop after 2 minutes! 40 minutes!”
Even though he didn’t get any buckets, Cole still had a worthwhile trip.
“The biggest victory was my family and I experiencing China for the first time,” he continued. “I also didn’t realize that so many people in China were shocked by my music! Thank you to everyone who came and brought the album to sign. I was blown away. I felt the energy in the game and you expected me to hit these shots too! Thank you so much!”
Cole is now gearing up for his The Fall-Off world tour, which will kick off in July and run through December.
