The game officially enters the diss track battle, launching an attack on Rick Ross in a new song called “Freeway’s Revenge”.
The Compton native dropped the show around midnight on Friday (May 10) after days of attacking Rozay in an attempt to draw him into the relationship between Drake and Kendrick Lamar that has engulfed the Hip Hop for weeks -Hop’s Lyrical War.
“The Game” is named after former drug lord Freeway Rick Ross, who accused MMG bosses of stealing his name. He also mocked Rose’s health issues, claiming “you had a heart attack 12 lemon pepper wings,” before referencing K. Dot and Drizzy’s feud.
“This ain’t Kendrick beef, my Drake singing,” he raps. “My K.Dot s###, I don’t need to turn on the beam.”
He also touched on Rose’s past as a correctional officer, then turned up the pressure after the beat switched.
“Congratulations. What an imagination / From CO to drug lord and now this n#### show Haiti / These n#### stories told / He goes ‘told us about every n# he locked in his cell ## #Everyone has a key,” the game continues.
“He told us he just bought another crib and he was doing great/But he wouldn’t tell us about his health, he was very sick/He took medicine and they started using his brain to treat it/ Seizure, s### stains on Balenciaga shorts.
He ended the track by warning that he was the “Compton Grim Reaper,” before advising Ross to “let it go.”
Game – Highway Revenge (Rick Ross Diss)
Just over a week after the battle-hardened host said his peers were afraid to criticize him, The Game has released his diss about Rick Ross.
“There’s no limit to how disrespectful I can be, I can actually rap,” he said. “Fans choose artists who are currently safe for the culture at large, but every true rap n#### knows who to hang out with and who not to hang out with.”
He also said the rap beef has been “watered down” and that J. Cole’s apology to Kendrick Lamar has made it even weaker.
“Hip-hop/rap or whatever it’s called now has been watered down,” he added. “Then Cole apologized and turned the thing into unsweetened Kool-Aid.”
