Future is filing contempt of court charges after accusing his ex Brittany of leaking confidential case details to the media.
Future is currently filing a contempt of court motion against his ex-girlfriend Brittni Mealy for allegedly leaking sensitive details of their ongoing legal dispute to the media.
The Atlanta rapper filed a lawsuit seeking sanctions for violating the court order, with much of the motion redacted but making it clear that she had been speaking to the media about their case.
This escalation occurred as their relationship continued to deteriorate due to financial obligations and parental responsibilities.
The central issue centered on a $500,000 life insurance policy that Brittni said Future should have purchased for their 13-year-old son, Prince.
She filed a lawsuit claiming he never obtained the policy as required by the court order, and now he’s fighting back, accusing her of violating the confidentiality agreement.
According to TMZ, Brittney also claims Future hasn’t seen Prince in more than sixteen months, adding another layer of tension to their custody and parenting arrangement.
Future wants a judge to find her in civil and criminal contempt, and he’s also asking her to pay the legal costs of his defense in what he calls a public campaign against him.
Brittney’s legal team included emails from Future’s representatives saying they believed she was the source of leaks of the lawsuit to the media.
She has denied the accusations, but the damage to their relationship now appears to be irreversible.
The situation reflects an all-too-familiar pattern for Future, which has been navigating complex custody arrangements with multiple former partners over the past few years.
Back in 2020, another ex-boyfriend named Eliza Seraphin took him to court demanding $53,000 in monthly child support payments, although a judge ultimately ordered him to pay $3,200.
His custody battle with singer Ciara also made headlines in 2016, when Ciara initially sought full custody of their son before a court later granted them joint custody.
Future’s child list now includes at least seven children, all with different mothers.
