Cherokee D’Ass fires back at Drake for mentioning a 200-year-old birthday party on his new album ICEMAN.
Drake just dropped his ICEMAN album and decided to take a trip down memory lane on the song “Make The Pay,” recalling the names of two adult film actors at a birthday party held over two decades ago.
The shoutout caught the attention of Cherokee Dayas, who immediately fired back at the Toronto rapper for bringing up ancient history on wax.
The lyrics in question read: “Hats off to Cherokee D and Skyy Black ’cause they happened to be my birthday when I was looking for big ass Ebonies.”
Drake referenced events from the early 2000s, when he was still gaining a foothold in the industry, but Cherokee D’Ass wasn’t impressed by the pullback. She didn’t hesitate to post her reaction on social media.
Rap about the s### that happened over 20 years ago haha😂

“Rap is about stuff that happened over 20 years ago lol,” Cherokee D’Ass wrote in her reply, making it clear that she finds the whole thing ridiculous.
The comment wasn’t meant to be offensive or hostile, just flat-out accusing Drake of digging up something from the early 2000s as breaking news.
It’s a move that makes you wonder why he felt the need to quote it.
What’s interesting here is the geographical angle that no one is really talking about.
Cherokee D’Ass is based in Los Angeles, which puts her firmly on the West Coast.
Given that she’s from the same area as Compton native Kendrick Lamar, it’s unlikely that she’ll be sticking up for Drake, especially with the whole Drake vs. Kendrick situation brewing in hip-hop circles.
The connection to Los Angeles is more important than Drake’s nostalgic shout-outs.
The whole situation highlights how Drake likes to reference his past, drawing inspiration from moments from his early years as if they’re still relevant to his current narrative.
