Details of Chuckyy’s arrest describe police officers breaking a window to remove him from his car and finding a loaded gun and $60,000 in cash.
According to an offer letter obtained by XXL from the Cook County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday (June 25), Chucky was arrested in Chicago on Monday (June 22) after a wild incident that included police officers smashing a window to pull the rapper out of his car and discovering a loaded gun. The letter explains how the Windy City rapper came to be detained.
Apparently, the Strategic Deployment Support Center (SDSC), which uses video surveillance and real-time data to help police locate and respond to crime in the city, observed an armed man, presumably Chucky, concealing the weapon inside a black BMW. When police arrived at the scene, the rapper allegedly jumped into the back passenger seat of the BMW and refused to speak to them. When officers ordered Chucky and another man in the car to get out of the car, Chucky refused.
Authorities suspected the rapper was armed and used a window punching tool to break the window and successfully free him from the BMW. As a crowd of onlookers gathered, police waited for backup to continue their investigation.
After police took Chucky into custody, they searched the vehicle and found a Glock 26 9mm semi-automatic pistol equipped with a laser sight and loaded with live ammunition under the front passenger seat. In addition, police also seized a blue zipper bag containing $60,000 in cash.
Upon further inspection, police also discovered that Chuckyy did not have a valid Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card or Concealed Carry License (CCL) to legally carry a firearm in Illinois.
The admission did not disclose the specific charges on which Chucky was arrested at the time of the incident.
