Bow Wow is quietly celebrating with news that his debut album Beware of Dog is now eligible for 4x Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The Ohio native broke the news on Twitter/X on Thursday (April 25), sharing a photo of the 2000 album cover and simply writing: “‘Beware the Dog’ is now available Got it. [sic] 4 X Platinum.
“Beware of Dog” was released in September 2000 via So So Def Recordings and Columbia Records. It sold 101,000 copies in its first week and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. It spawned the hit singles “Bounce With Me” with Xscape, “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” with Snoop Dogg and “Puppy Love” with Jagged Edge, cementing the then-13-year-old superstar Superstar status.
The record was certified double platinum in March 2001, so it took over 20 years to get certified 4x platinum!

Last month, Bow Wow revealed news of his return to music — and Chris Brown seemed to be involved.
In March, while addressing fans on Instagram Live, Bow revealed that he was planning a musical comeback and was working on a collaboration with his close friend Breezy.
“Hats off to my brother CB. I love you, bro. Thank you for the likes. I wasn’t going to announce this today, but CB and I have been in some trouble. That’s all I have to say. I just wanted to use the past year Something I’ve been working on for a while now to bless you all. More music is on the way. More music.
He added: “You see I didn’t say no to movies, right? Music. I’m back. I’m telling you right now, if you’ve ever left me out, I feel sorry for you.
Bow Wow’s last album, New Jack City II, came out in 2009, although he released a series of mixtapes in the following years, the most recent being 2019’s Greenlight 6.
This isn’t the first time he’s collaborated with Chris Brown; the two have collaborated on songs such as “Shortie Like Mine,” “Ain’t Thinkin’ Bout You,” and a remix of Breezy’s hit “Run It!”
