He was 42 years old.
Alley Boy was born Curt Freeman on March 19, 1984 in Edgewood Courts, Atlanta. He grew up in Zone 6. He started rapping as a child and recorded his first song around the age of 10.
He co-founded Duct Tape Entertainment with Big Bank Black, which eventually secured a distribution deal with Asylum/Atlantic Records, putting the label on a national map without major radio support or an online promotion.

As AllHipHop documented early in his career, this word of mouth became the foundation for everything he created.
His work has been in the spotlight for over 17 years, with projects like The Gift of Discrimment, War Cry and Blatlanta 3 becoming cornerstones of Atlanta’s underground rap scene.
Gift of Insight, in particular, is a mix of Pusha T, Big KRIT, Gunplay, and Yo Gotti, showing that he can take on anyone in the game.
During his career, he also collaborated with Future, Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy and Master P, influencing generations of Southern rap.
The Alley Boy did not hide the reason for his killing.
He spoke openly on the Humble Souls podcast about the damage years of codeine addiction and high blood pressure had done to his kidneys, even admitting to being a former drug dealer and selling the substance himself.
By the end of 2024, he had been on dialysis three times a week for more than a year and pushed hard for a transplant, which never materialized.
He plays out the entire story and lets the audience make different choices, turning his own deterioration into a warning to the public.
After news of his death broke on Sunday, Big Bank, DJ Scream, Rocko and Hot Boy Turk all posted tributes, praising him as one of the most authentic voices Zone 6 has ever produced.
As of press time, no official statement has been issued by his family or representatives.
