Childish Gambino announced a tour of North America, Europe and Australia, dubbed the “New World Tour.” Donald Glover will be bringing Amaarae and Willow along for select dates. The tour marks his first since 2019, following last night’s release of “Atavista,” which he calls the “finished version” of his 2020 record, “3.15.20.” Find tour dates below.
The last time Childish Gambino toured, he had just released “This Is America,” a single from his 2016 album Awaken, My Love!, and his Summer Pack EP. That year, he headlined the Coachella music festival and dropped Guava Island, his film with Rihanna.
A lot has happened since then, most of it on screen. He wrapped up the critically acclaimed TV show “Atlanta” with a fourth season, put pop fans under the microscope with the limited series “The Swarm,” and rebooted the 2005 film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” in which He starred opposite Maya Erskine in the play. He’s also transitioning upcoming Star Wars project Lando from a Disney+ series to a Lucasfilm movie.
In March 2020, Glover uploaded an unfinished studio album to the website donaldgloverpresents.com and then deleted it. A week later, it reappeared on the streaming service as 3.15.20, now polished and re-released as Atavista. Glover shared a clip from Littlefoot Bigfoot starring a young Nudy to accompany the news.
