50 Cent is being sued by a former employee for alleged retaliation, harassment and witness intimidation.
Monique Mayers, a former senior operations executive who spent 12 years at 50 Cent’s business ventures, including G-Unit Film & Television, claims she was wrongfully fired for refusing to participate in Fif’s illegal and fraudulent activities, according to a complaint obtained by XXL. Meyers also claims she suffered retaliation and harassment from the entertainment mogul after she was fired.
In the lawsuit, Meyers claims she worked for 50 Cent, formerly known as Curtis Jackson, while 50 Cent was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015. During this time, Meyers resisted 50 Cent’s alleged request to hide assets in his own name to hide the New York rapper’s ties to a deal during bankruptcy-related reporting. She also claimed that she refused 50’s request to file a false police report accusing the rapper’s driver/bodyguard, Bajar Walters, of stealing 50’s vehicle and approximately $600,000 in cash.
Meyers claims that 50 Cent subsequently fired her in 2019 out of retaliation, leading Forbes to retract a career-defining feature about her. She then claimed in the lawsuit that from 2019 to April 2026, she received more than 80 incidents of harassment via phone calls and text messages sent to at least 25 different phone numbers. Meyers believes 50 people staged a campaign of intimidation as a way to punish her.
“Curtis Jackson built ’50 Cent’s’ public image through highly publicized feuds and attacks on former colleagues, but as alleged in the indictment, this conduct was not a show and had real-world consequences,” Meyers’ attorney Benitta Joseph said in a statement to XXL.
“Mr. Jackson’s conduct caused serious harm to his personal and professional life and, in Ms. Meyers’ case, created an ongoing and credible fear for her safety. The complaint details a pattern of conduct designed to intimidate, punish, and silence those who refuse to comply with Jackson’s demands,” the statement concluded.
50 Cent’s attorney Reena Jain said in a lengthy statement to XXL that the G-Unit boss vehemently denies the allegations in Meyers’ complaint.
“Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and his representatives categorically deny the baseless allegations made in the recent civil lawsuit filed by Monique Meyers – a former employee who was terminated for cause on or about March 27, 2019,” the statement read. “To date, Mr. Jackson has not been served with any formal complaint, and opposing counsel has not contacted his representatives regarding this matter. It is highly unusual for a lawsuit of this nature to be circulated to the media before it appears to have been filed, proving that these allegations are completely without merit and are nothing more than a stunt to attract media attention and damage Mr. Jackson’s reputation.”
“Ms. Meyers is a disgruntled former employee who was terminated for cause five years ago. This lawsuit is nothing more than a clear attempt to use the guise of legal process to seek an unreasonable payday outside the applicable statute of limitations,” the statement continued. “It is clear that the attorney Ms. Meyers chose to retain is currently representing Shaniqua Tompkins in a separate, ongoing lawsuit against Mr. Jackson. This connection further highlights the vindictive and opportunistic nature of this document.”
“Furthermore, Mr. Jackson takes any threats against himself, his current and former employees, and any witnesses very seriously. Contrary to the false narrative peddled in this complaint, when these alleged threats came to light, Mr. Jackson’s legal counsel actively encouraged Ms. Meyers to report them to the authorities,” the statement added.
“Additionally, Mr. Jackson’s attorneys proactively reported these alleged threats to law enforcement to ensure they were thoroughly investigated,” the statement concluded. “We look forward to vigorously defending these false accusations in court and expect this frivolous lawsuit to be dismissed quickly.”
Monique Meyers is seeking a jury trial. She also wants a permanent injunction against 50 Cent to prevent him and other colleagues from intimidating, harassing or retaliating against her. She also seeks undisclosed damages and attorney’s fees.
