YG and Ty Dolla $ign have dropped another hit song, this time full of nostalgia. The rappers created “Teach You How To Luh Me” by sampling the iconic drum sample from the classic hip-hop dance record “Teach Me How To Dougie” and possibly sampling the phrase even more.
The flow of the song is simple and emotional, and the final melody creates an interesting space for the song. The song is about 4 minutes long and is structurally mostly made up of choruses that are repeated in different styles and the same core anchor – longing mixed with temptation, smoothly presented by the artist.
All in all, this record is both fresh and evergreen. One might think that such an attempt might fail in the face of an original classic, however, this song confidently passes the test on first taste.
