Yak Gotti is one of two remaining defendants in the YSL RICO case, but he appears to be facing a bigger challenge than he has recently. In addition, according to WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden, Gotti was stabbed at the Fulton County Jail on Sunday (December 1) and suffered “minor injuries.” However, it looks like he will recover well and will appear in court today (Monday, December 2) to continue jury deliberations while awaiting sentencing. The rapper has been through a lot with this case, among other controversies, and we hope he continues to recover and gets some closure on this matter soon.
For those unaware, one of the controversies involves an interrogation video that is still too blurry and unclear to really make a judgment call on the whistleblower accusations. But we don’t know if this is related to the stabbing of Yak Gotti, as there are few details about the incident. In fact, this is not the first time something like this has happened. His mother claimed that as early as October 2022, people in prison targeted him and stabbed him for reporting rumors.
Gotti the yak stabbed in jail
The YSL RICO trial has gone on for so long, and we still see no real end in sight when it comes to the remainder of the case involving Yak Gotti and his co-defendant Shannon Stillwell. Given their criminal records, they face mandatory maximum sentences if convicted, although a judge will decide how much of their sentence they will spend in custody. For example, a 20-year RICO sentence can be divided into 5 years in prison and 15 years of probation, but each day of the five years must be served in time.
However, a murder charge carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole, so both men face significant dangers. In the case of Yak Gotti, who has avoided some major hurdles in improving his federal trial, it will now be up to a jury to determine his innocence or guilt. We don’t know what will happen to the other co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell, but in due time, we’ll all likely get more answers.
