In a new interview, Yung Miami discusses why she wrote a letter of support for Diddy and gives an update on her friendship with JT and the future of City Girls.
Charlamagne Tha God posted his video interview with Yung Miami on The Breakfast Club YouTube channel on Tuesday (March 24). During the hour-long discussion (seen below), Miami talked about a variety of topics including Diddy, her fellow city girl JT, her new album, and more.
Miami was one of many celebrities to write letters of support for Diddy after she was found guilty of two counts of traffic prostitution in a sex crimes trial in July 2025. The 32-year-old rapper, who dated Diddy from 2021 to 2023, asked the judge to give the disgraced rap mogul a lenient sentence. Didi was eventually sentenced to 50 months in prison.
Miami told Charlamagne that she wrote the letter to someone she believed had “changed.”
“I wrote a letter for a person who had changed. I thought the person I had met and experienced had changed,” she explains. “I’m not going to defend some bullshit and I’m not going to support some bullshit if I feel like that person hasn’t changed. I feel like the person I met has changed. It’s a different experience. So that’s why I wrote this letter.”
However, Miami added that the association with Diddy severely damaged her brand.
“It is. Oops,” she revealed. “It’s just, there’s a lot of loss. Like I lost the deal. I lost the money. I lost the relationship. I lost a lot. You know, I’m here.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Miami discussed the status of her friendship with JT. Although the two went their separate ways, Miami said she was willing to sit down with JT and discuss their differences with a therapist.
“You know, let’s all grow as individuals,” she said. “I think that day will come. I also think we all have to be ready. It can’t just be when I feel like I’m ready or when she feels like she’s ready. It’s like we all have to be in a place where we can sit down as adults and say, ‘Okay, we’re in a better space now.'”
Miami also swears City Girls isn’t done yet.
“I think we need some time apart. I would never ‘leave’ City Girl,” she said. “We built this together, you know? Like we did a lot of things together. Just saying it never happened or just acting like it just died, you know? Like, it’s always going to be City Girl.”
