“She said, ‘This is my time to shine!'”

Cardi B recently performed in a twerking competition at a concert in Dallas. It generated a lot of attention – both because the prize for that particular contest was $2,000 and because many viewers thought the winner was the wrong one.

On March 7, Cardi B shocked the crowd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas by announcing that she would be giving away $2,000 to the person with the best dance performance in front of the camera. The competition is going well and the three finalists will be broadcast on the big screen for all to see.

Then, the winner was indeed announced, and according to many viewers, it was the wrong choice. Now, the internet is telling Cardi B and pretty much everyone in attendance that “the girl in the black leather shorts” should win the prize.

One attendee, Briana (@jb_empowers), even made a TikTok video about it. The video has since been viewed 1.5 million times. In her video, she argued that of three options, the woman in black leather shorts was the best dancer.

What happened during the game?

As cameras panned around the venue looking for eligible women to compete, the announcer screamed, “You’re all set, right? Who wants those 2,000?”

The announcer then goes out into the crowd along with the other judges to decide who will win the prize. They spotted a number of women in one area of the venue and highlighted them on the screen as they danced. There were many women who showcased their skills, but only three were selected for the play-offs.

There was a woman in a cheetah print bodysuit, a woman in black shorts, and a girl in a “skirt” or skirt combination. They get a chance to dance again. All three danced for a long time during the previous break, and by the end they gathered a large crowd as they prepared for their next performance.

In a video released of the event, a woman wearing culottes emerged victorious.

Fans go home confused about winner

After the concert, many people went home thinking the woman in black shorts should have won. Others offered completely different opinions.

Some viewers also pointed out another dancer who appeared briefly in the event video, saying she should have made it to the finals. She only appears for a few seconds during the game.

“If you look at this girl’s video, you’ll see she’s just getting started. I saw her. She definitely deserves to win. But I’m not talking about her,” Brianna said. “She wasn’t a finalist, so I’m not talking about her, but she definitely deserved to win. … They gave her a look for maybe 10 seconds and then moved on.”

Brianna and the commenter also claimed that the woman in black shorts was wearing feminine hygiene products. Subsequently, it was reported that the woman was Lexie Gold, a member of the Yoseline Revue, but this information has not been confirmed.

Did the woman in black shorts win something in the end?

While Brianna mentioned that the woman in black shorts was the “second winner,” this information has not been confirmed. Some online sources say a woman in Dallas took home the prize — the one wearing the dress.

Cardi B later posted about the situation after the concert. In the post, her friend let her know that the woman wearing “black shorts” should win. Some commenters interpreted this as the first appearance of the girl on the big screen at the start of the game. Others thought they were referring to the finalists. Regardless, Cardi B can clearly be heard saying: “[they] The money must be used to find a better system. ” She made no mention of awarding a second prize when retweeting the story.

Did Cardi donate $2,000 at her show?

Cardi B has reportedly started giving away $2,000 for the best fan camera at each show. But that doesn’t mean she’ll be twerking at every show. According to some TikTokers, Cardi B will hand out these bonuses based on fan behavior during the concerts to find “drama” at each event. Therefore, concertgoers should bring their best performance to the venue every chance they get.

AllHipHop reached out to Briana via TikTok DMs and comments, TikTok user DMNQ (@dmnq7.3) via TikTok DMs and comments, and Cardi B’s press team via email for more information. If either party responds, we will notify you.
