Chlöe’s new “Resurrection” mixtape with Timbaland began when Timbaland messaged her after seeing a video of her hit beat online.
Chlöe just released a 13-track mixtape with Timbaland, and she’s feeling like herself again.
The project, titled “Resurrection,” took over two months to complete via FaceTime and iMessage, with Timbaland sending the beats and Chlöe writing and sending them back.
She describes the 13-track set as “a resurrection for both of us,” and you can hear the energy shift in her voice as she talks about it.
What’s special about this collaboration is how it actually happened. Chlöe has been posting beat-making videos on social media, showing her creative process in real time.
She’d always been inspired by Timbaland’s hard-hitting production style, and working with him on this project rekindled something within her.
“Any part of me that felt like I had lost faith in myself came back in this moment,” she said.
A self-described music fan, she often creates music at home, and her manager Shamei encourages her to let the world see what she does every day.
The mixtape is pure passion project energy.
“We created this project over FaceTime and iMessage for two months. He would send me beats and I would write it and send it back to him,” she explains. What she loves most is how real it feels.
“This was truly a passion project,” she said, according to Jenna & Sheinelle’s TODAY. “I think you can feel the love and joy and creativity throughout the entire process.”
This isn’t her first success online. She and her sister Halle were caught posting Beyoncé covers online, which opened every door since.
Now, she’s using the same platform to connect directly with legends like Timbaland, proving that the internet can be a true tool for artists who know how to use it.
