Malik Taylor, a rising Tiktok star, known for his keen wit and pop culture commentary, died on August 20, 2025 in a bicycle accident in Concord, North Carolina. He is 28 years old.
Concord police said they found Taylor’s Nissan Rogue overturned at the bottom of a 20-foot embankment in Lapis Lane NW. He was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead by the Cabarus County EMS.
According to the medical examiner, Taylor died of multiple blunt force injuries suffered in the crash. Investigators say there is no evidence to suggest a foul, but alcohol is believed to be a factor.
Taylor recently moved to Charlotte from Memphis, where he continued to develop online. He has built over 250,000 dedicated followers on Tiktok and has built over 90,000 subscribers on YouTube channel Unpopular Parties, where he blends humor with cultural commentary.
Taylor worked as a teacher before becoming a full-time content creator. He received his degree in business administration from Austin Pie State University in Tennessee, where he participated in Alpha Kappa PSI and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternities.
Taylor’s family issued a statement applauding the support they have received since their death.
“Malik Taylor’s family, with love and gratitude, acknowledged the incredible support and kindness he showed after his experience of obsolete due to a tragic vehicle accident,” the statement said.
“For us, Malik is more than just a content creator – he is a beloved son, brother, nephew and friend. His creativity, humor and spirit touched countless lives, and his inspiration, entertainment and elevation of others’ legacy will continue to live.”
They also ask for privacy as they continue to grieve.
“We are so grateful to the community for embracing his pouring of love. Your encouragement and support mean more than words.
