Tha God Fahim dropped his 25th LP less than 48 hours after Tha Myth Who Never Quit 2 . /3, and we can’t ignore the vast number of recordings he made for himself, some of which standout include “Breaking Through tha Van Allen Belts” and “Dump Assassins.” But this guy put out a crazy EP in 2023, the standouts being Dark Shogunn Assassin produced by Camoflauge Monk, Iron Bull backed by Nature Sounds and Nicholas Craven produced Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King series, Oh No- Berserko Produced, Fahim’s last EP Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays was produced by Mike Shabb, Tha Supreme Hoarder of All Pristine Wealth produced, Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga produced by Cookin’ Soul, and most recently Machine Gun Vocabulary produced by Cartune Beatz . It’s been five years since The Myth of Never Give Up and upon hearing that a chapter in the trilogy was on the way, I hoped it would live up to the standard set by its predecessor earlier this week.
“Becareful What You Wish For” kicks off “The Myth 3” with woodwind samples, telling everyone to be careful what they wish for because they might get it, while “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap” Another win added to his winning streak. “Genki Dama” soulfully lets it be known that the only way to get to his right spot is while “Tha Deadzone” works through more kicks and snares to push his power levels through the roof.
As for “A Lot on My Mind,” we got Fahim talking about this living trash, a mellow boom-beat vibe before “100 Proof” once again delivers new-school jewel-sampled soul. “Absolute” features some all-out crooning, not that he struggled growing up, but “It Ain’t Free” is raw and atmospheric in the form of his pour-over creation of memories.
Tha Legends Continues brings the latest installment in the Tha Myth Who Never Quit series to its final moments, spanning chipmunk soul and booming bap, and the moment he steps into the booth, the studio is no longer a A Safe Place, Finally, “Whippersnapper” completes Breadrick Douglas’s second hardcore effort this week, showing him like no one has ever done before and he’s already gone down in history.
Three albums out in a whole month, and I enjoyed it almost as much from “The Myth of Never Giving Up 3” as “The Myth of Never Giving Up 2” because it lived up to my expectations, maybe a little more because they both Evenly matched with Fahim’s best work of 2024.
