A birthday party turned into a lawsuit. Sexyy Red filed a $500,000 civil suit Tuesday against her private security guard, claiming negligence allowed a masked burglar to rob her mother’s Florida home during a birthday celebration.
According to court docs, the incident happened Saturday night. While guests were inside, a suspect entered through an unsecured side entrance and stole multiple pieces of jewelry, cash, and designer bags from a bedroom.
Sexyy Red’s suit alleges the guard was “posted at the front door on his phone” and failed to do perimeter checks. The rapper says she specifically hired him for “celebrity-level protection” and paid $10K for the weekend.
The guard has not responded publicly. Police say the burglar remains at large and no arrests have been made.
Fans are split. Some say $500K is excessive, others say “secure the bag means secure the house too.” Sexyy Red tweeted “Y’all gone learn to do y’all job.”
This comes as the St. Louis rapper’s profile keeps rising post-Hood Hottest Princess. Legal drama aside, she’s booked all summer.
