Scar Lip named M&T Bank, accusing an employee of racism and profiling her from the moment she stepped into the building.
The rising star, who grew up in the Bronx, said she planned to take legal action unless she received a full explanation for her treatment.
Scar Lip took to Instagram Live on Thursday (August 29) to express her displeasure. “Yo M&T Bank is racist,” she began. “Why is it that when I go to this M&T Bank, I get some weird stuff described to me.”
Scar Lip explained that despite handing over her address, ID and social security card, the bank teller refused to transfer the money.
“I’ve proven it all, so why don’t you let me transfer?” the Epic Records signee asked. The employee told the “This Is New York” hitmaker she felt “uncomfortable” doing the deal.
“What on earth do you mean, you don’t feel well?” The scar raged. “B####Give me the money. Now because you feel uncomfortable, I’m going to take my money out of this bank and go to another bank. Because you won’t treat me in any weird way.
According to Scar, she explained that the transfer was for “business,” but the teller told her, “I need more information. That’s not good enough.”
In addition, Ska Lipp said bank employees threatened to call the police. She asked, “What are they going to do? Are you calling the police because I want to transfer money? B####, I’m a business. I own a business.”
Ultimately, Scar Lip felt that “she was judging me from the moment I walked into the bank” and threatened to sue.
“M&T, you better tell me the truth before I sue you,” she warned. “It’s one way or another; I’m going to sue you people or you guys just fuck off and give me a damn explanation for why the damn guy I was profiled tried to withdraw from the bank My damn money.
