Drake’s Iceman album is one of the hottest albums on the street right now, with rappers like Lil Tjay, Lucki, Conway The Machine and more adding their own lyrical touches to the project’s beats.
For example, on his 30th birthday (May 29), Chicago spitter Lucki dropped his ad-libs in a bizarre production of “Plot Twist.” In the video below, Lucki is seen hitting the low-key bar, counting bills, and celebrating her birthday with friends.
Another standout track from the Drizzy project is “Janice STFU,” where Liu Shen throws lyrical darts at his critics. New York rapper Lil Tjay recently jumped onto a synth-heavy beat to express his own personal grievances, such as online trolls harassing his mom and mistrusting women.
Another hit song from Iceman’s album is “Shabang.” In this energetic jam, Drizzy takes aim at Kendrick Lamar and the hateful opponents plotting to overthrow him. Chi-City lyricist Lupe Fiasco flipped the song title of his jam “CliqueBang” and addressed it in a viral video that shows him berating the audience at a concert for forgetting the lyrics to one of his songs.
Finally, Conway The Machine delivered a great freestyle over Drake’s melodic “Make Them Pay” beat. In the song, Conway delivers some reflective bars, discussing whether to undergo surgery to repair his facial paralysis and his decision to distance himself from people he can’t trust.
Collectively, these rappers offer different perspectives on their rap lives over the head-nodding beats of Drake’s Iceman album. Check out their freestyle below.
