Pooh Shiesty’s father is set to be released from federal custody after being arrested on suspicion of robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane.
A judge on Wednesday (May 27) ordered Lotrell Williams Sr. to be held without bail while robbery cases against him, Pooh Shiesty and seven others remain pending in a Texas federal court, according to a report published by Action News 5 on Thursday (May 28).
Pooh Shiesty, his father, Big30 and six other men are accused of robbing and kidnapping several people, including Gucci Mane, at a music studio in Dallas on January 10. Prosecutors allege the gang allegedly lured Gucci Mane to the recording studio under the guise of discussing business and recording music. However, investigators said that during the meeting, Vinnie pulled out an automatic gun and threatened Gucci with it to sign a release while other associates allegedly robbed the rapper and other victims of cash and jewelry.
During an April 8 hearing, the FBI revealed that Gurwoop gave a statement to police regarding the alleged robbery and kidnapping. Vinnie and others were arrested in April following a raid on the home of the rapper’s father in Memphis, Tennessee.
Pooh Shiesty (born Lotrell Williams Jr.) and Big30 (born Rodney Wright, Jr.) pleaded not guilty in the case and remain in jail after their bail was revoked.
The federal trial of Pooh Shiesty and his co-defendants is scheduled for July 6. If all nine men are found guilty, they could face life in prison.
