The description of the scene is heartbreaking and the background music is the icing on the cake. “I had nothing to say, I couldn’t even cry at your funeral,” Polo G gushed. “I come from that corner of hustler traps and marksman shots. Straight eights and shit bags, they ain’t gonna slide in any Subaru.” It’s an economic couplet that conveys not only the loss that haunted him and his late friend, but A sense of belonging. “Thug Memorials” is Polo G’s most sincere work, and therefore his best.
