Shortly after music guru Pharrell debuted a skateboard-inspired Louis Vuitton show, Pharrell became the focus of a new controversy when Vans suggested he plagiarized the collection. Yet, amid all the noise, there was also a lot of music playing.
At the recent Louis Vuitton SS27 show, Pharrell premiered a new musical collaboration with some of new-age hip-hop’s best artists—Lil Baby, Quavo, and NBA YoungBoy. These songs provided the background music for the models at the LV show, who walked on the beach with a structure that resembled an artificial waterfall behind them.
Arguably, the one with NBA YoungBoy seems to be the most dynamic of the three, while “Haavin” with Quavo is clearly the most compelling. Thematically, Lil Baby’s bill fits like a glove, with the artist rapping about luxury brands and the finer things in life while shouting out Pharrell saying “This beat is from Pharrell.” Check out the clip below!
