J. Cole’s “Poor Thing” Could Be All Wrong!
Since the release of “The Fall Off,” fans have been trying to decipher who Cole was talking about on one of the album’s most talked about tracks. At first, the network did what it always does. They dragged Kendrick Lamar and Drake in. Because obviously every bar in 2026 has to be about that fight. But once people really listen, they realize it’s something much more personal. It feels very local. This feels… Fayetteville.
Naturally, the name “910 Space” started to become popular in some corners. History is muddled by these public statements. That tension never really cooled. But this is a turning point. Even 910 Space reportedly said he didn’t believe the record was about him, but he reported it anyway because people said it was him. If anyone wanted to own these gold bars, it was him.
Check out our space interview…but it’s getting sketchy.
So, if not space, then who?
Rumors are circulating about another character in Fayetteville. Tank Tyler is a former NFL player turned aspiring rapper. Now things get interesting.
Sources and old clips all date back to the nightclub in 2012. The two sides disagreed with each other and their feelings were hurt. They allegedly discussed cooperation, conservation and hometown politics. Cole later jumped on the Funk Flex freestyle and made it clear that the pressure of the streets wasn’t getting to him. Shortly after, Tank released a diss record, which basically told Cole he couldn’t return to the city and claim it.
Fast forward. Cole is 29 years old. Moved back to North Carolina. “Poor Thing” paints a picture of a smooth-talking guy from his hometown, a guy who grew up with his parents, a guy who’s trying to establish credibility on the street but isn’t. The timeline overlaps more neatly with the tank situation than it does with space.
Ironic. Today’s tanks seem to be spiritually aligned with the energy Cole preached. Juice has a cleansing effect. Holistic life. grow. He’s not a trap rapper anymore!
If this was the guy, it would feel less like a war and more like a chapter.
Confirmed? But it definitely stirs the pot!
Fayetteville has talent and intensity. And Cole remembers everything clearly. We might want to cancel the interview with Space!
