Despite being asked to, YoungBoy Never Broke Again did not leave New Orleans after either concert.

New Orleans Police Department Communications Director Officer Reese Harper released the following statement to XXL on Wednesday (October 22) in response to reports that NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick banned YB from performing in Louisiana following her recent performance at The Big Easy.

“Whether NBA YoungBoy performs future concerts in Louisiana is entirely a matter between his promoters and Smoothie King Center management, which parties will negotiate and enforce these agreements,” the statement read. “The New Orleans Police Department has no authority or involvement in determining which artists are allowed to perform in the city.”

The statement also read: “On Monday, October 20, 2025, Director Anne Kirkpatrick confirmed to Smoothie King Center management that NBA YoungBoy did not leave town following both concerts, in accordance with an agreement between Smoothie King Center management and the artist’s promoter, Live Nation.”

NBA YoungBoy performed two shows in New Orleans on October 19th and October 20th, his first performance in the city in seven years. The New Orleans Police Department deployed 400 additional officers to ensure security for the event. On the first night, a fight broke out among the crowd. The next night, fans without tickets attempted to storm the venue’s entrance, causing police to cordon off the venue.

After both shows, YB took the party to Bourbon Street near the arena, where he was mobbed by fans and police had to step in to ensure his safety.

After Monday’s show, YB’s manager Alex Junnier reportedly shared a since-deleted post on social media claiming that Anne Kirkpatrick had banned YB from performing in Louisiana.

“Shout out to Twinski for telling us that after these two shows we will no longer be allowed to perform in Louisiana,” the post read.

XXL has reached out to NBA YoungBoy’s team, Smoothie King Center and Live Nation for comment.
